The Fishbon Library at UCSF’s Mount Zion campus supports the education and research needs of our nurses and non-academic medical center staff. The Library also supports patients and families directly by providing no-cost health and medical information research.
Support for Medical Center Staff
Clinical research librarians are available to provide expert searching of nursing and biomedical literature and consult on systematic reviews. Our librarians also provide classroom instructional support and one-on-one coaching for searching selected bibliographic databases (PubMed, CINAHL) and the use of citation management tools (Endnote).
Nursing related research materials are available in multiple formats: hard copy and electronic books, print and electronic journals, and electronic databases. Electronic materials are accessible both on site and off-campus via VPN remote-login. Interlibrary services are available to assist in finding materials not readily available at UCSF.
Support for Patients and Families
A dedicated clinical research librarian specializing in consumer health is available by phone, email, or in-person. Through the Fishbon Library, patients and families have free access to journals, databases, and health and wellness newsletters.
